Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board are without a chair and chief executive this morning. I’m glad Mark Drakeford, Welsh Government Health Minister seems to be taking urgent action to ensure a functioning organisation. The people of north Wales need a health service that works for them.
I have to say the Health Inspectorate Wales quote saying that “governance arrangements and procedures do not adequately address gap between ward and board” chimes absolutely with my experience of BCUHB both personally and professionally. I said as much to meeting looking at implementing Francis report recommendations earlier this week.
